She corresponds with a young man named Stefanos (Giannis Fertis), and they fall in love with each other. When he comes to Nauplion to meet her, she sends a friend in her place (Mema Stathopoulou). Christina and Stephanos go to a masked ball where they confess their love for each other and kiss. The real Christina, however, remains hidden behind her replacement.
